Google launched 'Operation Blue Skies,' the world's first state-backed trial to avoid contrails across an oceanic airspace. The project uses AI to predict contrail-sensitive regions and deviate flight paths, employing ML on satellite imagery to verify impact. Contrails account for about one-third of aviation's climate impact.
