Meta open-sources Astryx: 8-year-old design system behind 13,000+ apps, agent-ready
udmrzn · x · 2026-11-09
Meta has open-sourced Astryx, an internal design system refined over 8 years that powers 13,000+ apps. It's MIT-licensed, currently in beta, and already has 16k GitHub stars.
- 150+ ready-made UI components: buttons, forms, modals, dark mode, brand theming.
- Agent-ready by design: via CLI and MCP, AI agents can consume component docs and templates directly, so generated UIs follow a mature design system instead of being a roll of the dice.
- The repo includes AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md, underscoring the agent-first positioning.
