Teknium boosted a demo of hermes-whatsapp-voice, a community-built plugin for Nous Research's Hermes agent: when a cron job finds something that genuinely needs the user, Hermes places a live voice call over regular WhatsApp instead of sending another swipe-away notification.
Key points:
- No WhatsApp business account needed; runs on an unofficial connection
- Call triggers include urgent reminders and scheduled morning check-ins
- Users can call back and handle tasks mid-call; a recap lands in the chat after hanging up
- It can only ring the owner's number, and falls back to other channels if unanswered
