Stanford prof: AI-accelerated diagnosis is low-hanging fruit, not the real bottleneck
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-11-08
Stanford professor Anshul Kundaje argues that using AI to accelerate diagnosis and improve hit rates is "low-hanging fruit," but not the biggest bottleneck for solving the vast majority of cases. Real progress needs better models of biology: the right data in the right contexts, breakthroughs in delivery tech, and much more reliable genetic screening—which is genuinely hard.
