Anthropic's guide: turn Claude into a work assistant with Skills and MCP
Arindam_1729 · x · 2026-11-08
This repost covers two things:
- Anthropic's official technical guide on turning Claude into a day-to-day AI assistant: create custom Skills that encode your workflows as reusable instructions, let Claude handle repetitive tasks in the background, and connect agents to local tools and apps via MCP servers.
- The author's own quoted project: using Kimi K3.1 Pro (just live on @nebiustf), he built "Napkin to 3D Print", an open-source app that takes a photo of a napkin sketch and produces a printable part. Kimi reads the sketch, writes parametric CadQuery code with all dimensions in one PARAMS dict, builds it in a sandbox, renders from 4 angles, then self-compares renders against the sketch with PASS/REVISE verdicts. Output includes a 3D viewer with per-dimension sliders and STL/STEP/.py downloads. End-to-end in 4.5 minutes for $0.15.
