Engineer proposes CI/CD could become a handoff to a deployment agent
andreisavu · x · 2026-11-08
Engineer andreisavu argues that rolling out changes to production benefits from reasoning — what changed, what could go wrong, what testing is needed, which signals to watch, what guardrails to set. In the age of agents, CI/CD could become a handoff to an agent responsible for safely getting a change into production: assessing risks, shaping the test and rollout plan, monitoring the deployment, and investigating anomalies.
Deployment mechanics can stay deterministic, while the reasoning about how a specific change should be tested and rolled out adapts to the change.
