Anthropic merges 30,000 changes daily yet 98% of Claude Code GitHub issues sit unassigned

A r/ClaudeAI post questions Anthropic's engineering priorities: per its own engineering blog, the company merges over 30,000 code changes per day, yet 15,766 of 16,060 open issues (98%+) in the public Claude Code repo have no assignee, some languishing for months or years — including serious security, privacy, and functionality bugs. Example: a User-Agent header issue leaking users' email addresses to third-party sites has been reported for months and remains unassigned.

John Crickett's retweet raises a bigger question: why isn't Anthropic applying a software factor to triage issues? Given prompt-injection risks from issues, Anthropic seems best positioned to build a software factory that reviews, filters risky reports, and routes the rest to agents or humans — and showing it work publicly would be a stronger marketing case study than the 30,000-merges claim.
