Satnam Singh: AI Is Dissolving the Hardware/Software Boundary for Good
satnam6502 · x · 2026-11-07
Renowned systems researcher Satnam Singh argues that the barriers to a unified way of programming hardware and software — separate languages, semantic models, university departments, and cultural divides — exist only because of human organization and brain limits. AI doesn't care about turf, and relentlessly synthesizes across the boundary, so one program compiling to any hardware/software mix is finally within reach. His post cites his ACM Queue article "Computing Without Processors."
