US-Canadian robotics company Realbotix has introduced its Echo series of lifelike robots with realistic silicone skin, customizable appearances, and AI conversations powered by ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Prices reportedly start at $11,950 for a desktop version and reach $59,950 for a full-body model. Tansu Yegen notes the interesting business model: it's not just selling a robot, but selling a humanlike interface first and making the rest of the body an upgrade — AI companionship is moving beyond screens into physical robots.
