Problem #3 of running 100 AI agents: tool contention, rate limits and cost blowups
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-11-07
Part 3 of the series: imagine 100 agents hitting the same API, database, or external service — rate limits interrupt workflows, concurrent database requests overload resources, multiple agents compete for the same tools, and uncontrolled parallel execution drives up infrastructure costs. Remedies: rate limiting, request queues, concurrency controls, and resource-aware scheduling. The post points to Temporal (24.2k stars on GitHub), whose docs even expose a public search endpoint designed for AI agents.
