Problem #4 of running 100 AI agents: cascading failures and runaway retries
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-11-07
Part 4 of the series: in a multi-agent workflow, one agent's failure can affect several others — a failed task blocks dependent agents, automatic retries create duplicate operations, incorrect outputs spread downstream, and agents may repeatedly call tools without progress. Remedies: timeouts, retry limits, circuit breakers, idempotent operations, and human approval for critical actions. Temporal is again recommended as the durable-execution backbone.
