MolRSI: self-improving AI scientist doubles antibiotic hit rate in wet lab
LesterMackey · x · 2026-11-07
MolRSI is an AI scientist that recursively improves its own search policy for molecular discovery, with wet-lab validation:
- Antibiotic discovery: 15.9% hit rate vs 8.7% for an expert-designed non-agentic workflow.
- De novo pMHC binder design: 8 selective binder hits across 2 targets vs 0 for Claude Science.
The team has been working since spring on agents building computational workflows that outperform humans, and now reports strong wet-lab results. Paper and project page are public.
