Siri AI opens to developers in iOS 27.3 betas via App Intents

Apple opened Siri AI integration to developers in the iOS 27.3 beta cycle (as of Nov 3): apps describe their capabilities via App Intents, and the assistant can check deliveries, book reservations, or place orders in the user's own words. New "skills" let Siri combine multiple actions into one request, and it can surface anything an app places in the Spotlight semantic index.
It's still a developer preview: customer-facing features arrive "in a few months," App Store submissions open in spring, terms and usage policies are unpublished. It's unavailable in the EU on iOS/iPadOS/watchOS, excluded for users under 13, and server-side features carry daily usage limits with expanded paid access planned.
The author argues that if users reach apps through an OS-level assistant, which actions an app exposes—and how the assistant picks between apps—may matter as much as the app's own UI.
