Anthropic confirms Claude Code image read-loop bug, fix ships next week
lydiahallie · x · 2026-11-07
- Anthropic devrel lead Lydia Hallie responded to the Ultra quota-burning incident: the bug is reproduced and a fix ships early next week.
- Mechanism: when a subagent reads more images than fit in one request, the oldest are removed, but the subagent believes it never read them and reopens them in a loop.
- Interim workaround: if your session involves many images, ask Claude to split them up so each subagent reads at most 20 until the fix is live.
