AI research system proves 2008 Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture in ~3 days
Hesamation · x · 2026-11-07
David Turturean announced that a research system he built for @psipbc, running on a non-public Anthropic model, has proved the Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture — open since 2008 and one of the most fundamental questions in quantum computing, concerning when quantum computers can achieve exponential speedups.
Per the quoted thread, the system spent roughly 3 days on the conjecture itself, bringing in new ideas as well as older ones from previous researcher attempts, and "deforming" them just right to make the puzzle pieces fit. Hesamation's repost adds the timeline.
