Industrial robot installs hit 603k in 2025, China 59%; humanoids near 25k but mostly non-productive

Global industrial robot installations reached 603k in 2025, up 11% year over year, with China accounting for 354k units, or 59% of the total. Meanwhile, humanoid robot shipments approached 25k units in H1 2026 — but most went to research, entertainment, or data collection rather than productive work.
The key takeaway: volume and productive use are still very different measures, and there remains a large gap between humanoid shipment numbers and real industrial deployment.
