Indie dev adds AI agent contact editing with per-change undo and approval gates
SeanOliver · x · 2026-11-07
Indie developer Sean Oliver's address book app Sealed now lets an AI agent edit contacts: friends add their own addresses, and he uses the agent to send holiday cards.
Key permission design choices:
- Regular edits save immediately, and every change ships with an Undo;
- Destructive actions like email changes and deletions wait for explicit approval;
- The approval screen flags "this agent edited the contact right before asking" so users can review details first;
- Code review kept surfacing edge cases in bulk edits and an Undo-all button, so he cut both — a lesson in simpler permission surfaces.
