Claude Code usage-limit fix: offload small tasks to DeepSeek, first task cost $0.0043
PrajwalTomar_ · x · 2026-11-07
Responding to widespread complaints about Claude Code usage limits, the author shares a simple routing setup:
- Keep Claude on Opus for the real work
- Add a second command, claude-cheap, wired to DeepSeek V4.1 Flash via OpenRouter
- Give it its own settings file so the normal setup and login stay untouched
- Send small tasks there
The author's first offloaded task cost just $0.0043, preserving Opus quota for work that actually needs it.
