Xianrui Technology, a subsidiary of Yunnan Germanium, signed a long-term supply LOI with Coherent to ship 6-inch InP substrates to Coherent's Switzerland and Sweden fabs between 2027-2029, worth at least $601M.
Earlier, AAOI struck a deal with Yunnan Germanium for 180k 4-inch wafers at $194M — roughly $1,077 per InP wafer, widely seen as a strong price. Chinese suppliers are becoming critical to the InP photonics substrate supply chain.
