DeepSeek leads the accuracy-cost Pareto frontier "not even close", says casper_hansen_
casper_hansen_ · x · 2026-11-07
Sharing a VALS chart, casperhansen argues DeepSeek clearly leads the accuracy-cost Pareto frontier: DeepSeek V4.1 Flash hits 61% Vals Index at near-zero cost (MAX setting), while Claude Opus 5.5 MAX only adds 8 points at $26. He adds Opus is still nicer to work with, and DeepSeek is indirectly pushing closed labs toward cost efficiency — open competition benefits everyone.
