Taxbit ships a cited, permission-aware AI assistant on Bedrock AgentCore with 55% 24h return rate

Taxbit details how it built Assist, an AI assistant embedded in its digital-asset tax platform, on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Strands Agents SDK.
- Four constraints: every answer cited and grounded; role/organization awareness; a hard line between product docs and (forbidden) tax advice; regional data residency from one codebase.
- Security core: the model never handles identity—email, org ID and roles come from the trusted calling service and are bound into tools via closures, so prompt injection can't forge trusted context; the agent has no read access to customer tax data and its only write is the caller's own support tickets.
- Retrieval: managed knowledge base on Amazon S3 Vectors with Cohere Embed English v3, incremental ingestion via Lambda crawlers using sitemap lastmod and content hashes.
- Geography-aware inference keeps EU data in the EU; BYOK, prompt caching, and OpenTelemetry-driven quality evals on live traffic.
Production analytics show 55% of users who ask a question return within 24 hours. Compliant with ISO 42001/27001/27701 and SOC 2 Type II.
