New startup barely uses SaaS: 'In a future of instant software, I'd rather have an API'

A founder shares that his company, started this year, barely uses third-party software: no Notion, CRM, or outreach tools; Linear was added only weeks ago and just to track long-running agent tasks. Work happens mostly in Orca, while they invest heavily in dev tools like greptile, blacksmith, and graphite.
His thesis: if software becomes instantly creatable, startups that historically sold to other startups first face an existential question — in that future he'd rather have an API than a piece of software, building his own UI or just talking to the system.
