Look MCP lets your AI see one window and point where to click, never click itself
Beneficial-Mind-5932 · reddit · 2026-11-06
An indie developer released Look MCP, a free Mac menu bar app now on the Mac App Store. The idea: instead of granting agents full computer use, let them just "look" briefly.
- Flow: when the AI asks to look, you pick one window (or app) in macOS's native picker; it gets only that screenshot, then overlays rings with short labels showing where to click or type. It never clicks or types—you do the steps and it guides the next one.
- Use cases: the author booked a rental car with it (the agent knew flight number and arrival time, guiding field by field); a friend uses it in After Effects, which inspired app-level sharing for apps with many pop-up windows.
- Privacy: no Screen Recording permission needed, fully local, no account, share stoppable anytime.
- Works with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, ChatGPT and other MCP clients; one-line claude mcp add setup.
