LinkedIn ranks posts by on-topic rate and dwell time, ignoring likes entirely
_jaydeepkarale · x · 2026-11-06
LinkedIn's content search uses a retrieval layer (token-based + embedding-based) followed by multi-stage ranking. Post quality is scored on just two metrics: on-topic rate (relevance to query intent) and long-dwell (time spent on a post). Likes and comments are deliberately excluded because they can easily be farmed via engagement farming.
