Open-source mnemos-continuity brings local semantic memory to AI agents
RileyRalmuto · x · 2026-11-06
Developer RileyRalmuto has open-sourced mnemos-continuity, a project roughly two years in the making, installable via pip install mnemos-continuity.
- Installing the [embeddings] extra and running mnemos embeddings download runs a small embedding model on your machine, enabling recall that searches by meaning rather than keyword matching only
- The goal is to keep all memory data local, aside from API calls made by whatever harness you use
- The author notes there's room for improvement and many other applications for the architecture, hinting at identity capsules, specialists, and personas
