Vjeux · x · 2026-11-06
jlongster (creator of Redux) reports that he revived Prepack—Facebook's abandoned partial evaluator that pre-optimizes apps—using AI to solve the hard problems that killed the original project.
Benchmarks in the attached image: React renderToString takes 2.97ms, revived Prepack runs in 549µs (5.4x faster), and his new tool freezedry hits 556µs (5.3x). A concrete case of AI unlocking ideas previously shelved for engineering difficulty.
