Census data: 87-90% of AI-using US firms report no change in employment or hiring

An updated chart from Census BTOS survey data (11/1) shows the actual employment impact of AI remains modest: among firms using AI, only 10-13% report changing employment or hiring due to AI, while 87-90% report no change. Across all firms, at least 95-96% report no change. Firms reporting increased employment are a small share; decreased employment is rarer still. A useful empirical anchor for the 'is AI taking jobs' debate.
