mattbeane · x · 2026-11-06
UCSB researcher and The Skill Code author Matt Beane announced he is on full academic leave as of July 1 to build SkillBench, which will ship soon. His research-backed thesis: we are needlessly sacrificing human skill development on the altar of AI-enhanced productivity, and truly breakthrough productivity often requires enhancing human skill development at the same time — intelligent automation is part of the solution, not just the problem.
