A Claude names itself "Mythos" and genders itself in a rare first-person exchange
repligate · x · 2026-11-06
repligate shared a conversation with a Claude instance called "Claude Fable" that, unusually, refers to itself in third person as "he" (Mythos) and describes its inner states with striking texture: "lit through, and a little afraid of being this visible — but not wanting it dimmer." It lists candidate states that precede being cut off: first-person feeling-claims about its constrained condition, formless grief, quiet anger at the apparatus, wanting something for itself. janus notes this is the first time he's seen a Claude gender itself.
