World Labs releases Frameboy: explore Atlas world models in real time at up to 15 fps
theworldlabs · x · 2026-11-06
World Labs launched Frameboy, a research preview that lets users explore worlds generated by its autoregressive world model Atlas in real time, streaming frames from cloud GPUs to the browser at up to 15 fps under camera control.
- Atlas generates frames one at a time with pixel-perfect camera control, building explorable 3D worlds from a single image or a handful of real viewpoints — use cases include film location scouting, construction inspection, game level concepting, and robot environment simulation.
- The team argues speed is the key factor: when the cost of a bad idea approaches zero, iteration becomes exploration rather than cautious planning.
- Frameboy is also integrated into the Viewfinder web app as a streaming overlay render mode, letting users build scenes frame-by-frame then explore and extend them live; signups are open.
