Local LLM plans the layout, MOSS-Image renders: one-line brief to finished poster on a Mac Studio
SquareBat780 · reddit · 2026-11-06
A fully local poster-generation pipeline on a single Mac Studio:
- Gemma 4 31B (MLX, bf16) receives a system prompt with MOSS-Image's layout format plus rules (size boxes to text, no overlaps, keep margins) and turns a one-line brief into layout JSON with pixel boxes.
- A small script validates the JSON (in-canvas, no overlaps) and retries on failure; every plan passed first try.
- The JSON goes unedited into a plain CLIP Text Encode in stock ComfyUI using only built-in nodes and the README's sampler settings.
- Timing: planning 103.9–171.5s per brief (15.4 tok/s), rendering 148.9–177.2s per image.
The post includes brief + planned boxes + render side by side for multiple examples; the LLM even encoded a line break in JSON to split a title across two lines.
