Texas data center with zero-water cooling and full power self-supply still rejected

Project Roman in Deaf Smith County, Texas is revealed to be a data center that covered 100% of its own power, used zero water for cooling, pledged 120% water stewardship, housed construction workers, invested in schools, and could have funded the county budget for 7 years—yet was still rejected. The takeaway: no amount of community benefits seems to overcome data center NIMBY PR.
