ZTC architecture: TypeScript agent plus Rust screen layer over local JSON protocol
idanbeck · x · 2026-11-06
The ZTC author shares its architecture: a distributed design that runs in the terminal, a desktop app, embedded in applications, or headless on a server. "Two halves, one protocol" — a TypeScript agent layer plans, edits, and runs tests, while a native Rust layer renders the screen (Zmux multiplexer, ZTC Desktop native window, ztc-tui inline), connected via newline-delimited JSON over a local socket.
