Mapping AI startups onto a top-30 pharma org chart shows where competition clusters and where it's absent: most crowded are computational biology/bioinformatics (7 AI-natives), target ID & validation (6), clinical trial design (6); least penetrated are biometrics & data sciences (0/6), portfolio strategy (0/5), regulatory strategy (0/4). VC money skews to research ($5.5B vs $1B commercial, low millions manufacturing). AI success has concentrated in molecule design; antibodies are crowded while vaccines and radiopharma have zero vendors. Frontier labs are absent from pharmacovigilance and manufacturing.
