Gaussian splat demo renders a photoreal 'phone walkthrough' of London in real time with PlayCanvas
willeastcott · x · 2026-11-05
What looks like phone footage of a London alley is actually a real-time Gaussian splat render: a simulated walker with realistic gait, head turns, motion blur, rolling shutter and footsteps films on a virtual phone; tapping the scene burns it down to its Gaussians. Built with PlayCanvas (WebGPU with WebGL 2 fallback), open-sourced as splat-walk on GitHub, using David Fletcher's CC BY 4.0 'Artillery Passage' scan from SuperSplat.
