HAMLOG, a self-taught creator who spent 16 years at LG Electronics and its ad agency HSAD, single-handedly wrote, directed and produced the 9-minute AI fantasy short SARAN: A Flower Amid the Sands, using generative AI for image, video and voice. It won four awards at the New York International Film Awards (September 2026): Best AI Film, Best Fantasy Film, Best 1st Time Director and Best Screenplay.
She started learning AI filmmaking at night in 2025 and went full-time in May 2026. After posting on Threads, the film was reposted by 250k and 900k-follower accounts, a VC reached out, and she heads to New York in mid-November — a strong signal that solo AI filmmaking can now produce award-winning narrative work.
