Miessler: a drug boosting empathy and self-restraint 10-25% may be the AGI Holy Grail
JensHonack · x · 2026-11-05
Daniel Miessler proposes reframing the AGI/ASI Holy Grail: a drug or treatment that raises IQ, empathy, compassion, and/or self-restraint by 10-25% or more. Reducing self-harm and conflict while increasing cooperation would be the meta-upgrade for humanity, and he argues we should set this as an explicit goal.
The replying poster adds that there are already a few candidate directions for compassion and optimism.
