US banks restrict third-party AI agents over account security concerns
TechNadu · x · 2026-11-05
Major US banks including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley have begun restricting third-party AI agents over fears they could execute unauthorized actions like transfers without clear customer consent. Shufti Global CTO Frayyam Asif argues traditional logins only confirm credentials, not human authorization, exposing banks to screen scraping, credential leakage and prompt manipulation; he calls for strict agent identity verification, step-up human consent controls, session monitoring and full audit trails.
