A trick to reverse-engineer Claude's Design Skill: make it use the skill first, then ask for a clone
dotey · x · 2026-11-05
A practical workaround to extract Claude's official Skill system prompt: asking directly gets refused, but if you have Claude first complete a simple design task with its Design Skill loaded, then say you want to build an identical skill with the same inputs/outputs, the loaded skill context leads it to reproduce a near-copy. Large complex skills get simplified, but follow-up questions can fill in most of the gaps.
