Open-source MCP server lets AI assistants query OpenStreetMap, geocode addresses, and fetch elevation data
Te6kiGomna · reddit · 2026-11-05
A hosted, open-source MCP server gives AI assistants access to OpenStreetMap data: place search (Nominatim-style), Overpass queries, forward/reverse geocoding, and elevation data. No self-hosting needed. A demo shows natural-language queries like 'camping sites by a lake in Switzerland' plotted on a map. Code at github.com/cdutsov/overpass-mcp.
