ChatGPT and Claude web only accept remote MCP server addresses, so the author built a relay in front of a local MCP app (Banquish): the relay self-answers initialize and tools/list using a release-time snapshot (so tool lists show even when the machine sleeps), and pairs devices via an OAuth code instead of accounts, with instant revocation on unpair. A practical pattern for bridging web chat apps to local tools.
