Dev uses MiniMax and DeepSeek models to find and fix 4 crashes in mmdbctl CLI
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-11-04
Developer Daniel Lockyer found and submitted merged fixes for 4 crashes/OOM bugs in mmdbctl, a management CLI for MMDB (GeoIP) files — including bounding metadata decoder nesting depth, reading size prefixes with io.ReadFull, and fixing a JSON import panic on non-object records. He is currently triaging 6 more.
Most of the bugs were discovered using MiniMax M3.1 Flash and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017, a practical demonstration of frontier low-cost models doing real open-source code audit work.
