A new SemiAnalysis report details Elon Musk's extraordinary AI infrastructure buildout, aiming to match Google's 27 years of data center capacity in 18 months:
- 13 GW of compute capacity targeted by end of 2027; over 9 GW already identified
- 3.6 GW under construction across multiple sites; two Starbase data centers exceeding 1 GW combined
- 5.9 GWh of battery storage being installed at Colossus 2
- Project SPAM broke ground October 5, with first compute capacity due in December
Speed is equally striking: SpaceX brought 210 MW online in just 91 days, versus the 8–12 months typical projects take, with sites spanning Starbase, Memphis and Southaven.
