Four Free CUDA Courses to Fill the GPU Programming Gap
techNmak · x · 2026-11-05
The author notes their CS degree never covered GPU programming and lists four free CUDA resources they wish they'd had on day one:
- NVIDIA - Modern CUDA C++: official video lectures, slides and coding notebooks covering parallel algorithms, CUDA streams and writing your own kernels.
- freeCodeCamp - CUDA Programming: a 12-hour course with Elliot Arledge, from setup and C/C++ review to kernels, memory management, matrix multiplication and custom PyTorch ops.
- University of Illinois - Applied Parallel Programming: CUDA execution and memory models, with exercises on tiling, reductions, scans and convolution.
- University of Oxford - CUDA Programming on NVIDIA GPUs: free lecture slides and practical exercises from Mike Giles and Wes Armour.
