Gigabyte has unveiled the WRX90 AI TOP, an E-ATX workstation motherboard aimed at local AI builds with extreme specs:
- Supports AMD Threadripper PRO 9000/7000 WX CPUs
- Up to 2TB ECC DDR5 RDIMM across 8 memory channels
- 7 PCIe 5.0 slots (6× x16 + 1× x8), expandable to 9 GPUs
- Dual 10GbE, IPMI remote management, Ubuntu 24.04 / Windows 11 support
Notably, this is a workstation board rather than a rack server, meaning enthusiasts could build a serious home AI lab with massive memory for running large models locally.
