One prompt to audit cross-region traffic: dev cut trans-Atlantic latency by moving a service
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-11-04
Developer Daniel Lockyer shares a practical prompt: "Check all my infrastructure for cross-region/cross-datacenter traffic which would lead to latency overhead."
His real-world case: moving a latency-sensitive Functions service to the same region as a third-party API it called multiple times in the hot path. Even though the function's own overhead changed, the biggest win was avoiding multiple trans-Atlantic requests.
