Device MCP lets Claude Code and Codex control a real iPhone for UI testing
rudrank · x · 2026-11-04
Developer nghiatran launched Device MCP, an MCP server that gives AI agents full control of a real iPhone or iPad. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or any MCP client can tap, swipe, type, and open apps like a human, solving the pain of manually testing iOS features.
Key details:
- Mirrors the device to Mac at 60fps over USB-C or Wi-Fi, switching automatically when unplugged
- Built on UI hierarchy instead of OCR, so agents can see hidden buttons and off-screen elements
- No helper app, signing team, or certificates needed; runs locally on localhost behind a token, so the screen never leaves the room
- Android devices and emulators coming soon
The author demos Claude Code using it to debug an app: it finds a 404 caused by a mealtype vs meal-type typo in RecipeAPI.swift. The app is in development with a 50% early-bird discount and perpetual license.
