Game dev pushes back on 'full game in 24 hours with AI' claim: it's a demo, not a game
AIandDesign · x · 2026-11-04
Developer xikhar claimed to build a full original game in 24 hours using an AI stack (Opus 5.5, Flux 3 Max, GPT Image, Tripo, Blender, Three.js), saying "anyone can make games now."
Fellow dev AIandDesign pushed back hard: you can build a cool demo or proof of concept, but not a polished game people will play for more than 3 minutes. He argues such overhyped claims fuel the "AI games = low-effort slop" narrative, drive trash Steam reviews, and hurt developers who spend months polishing their games. He urged the original poster to reconsider the wording, saying it causes real damage to AI game devs.
