Apple opens Siri to all apps: chaining, screen awareness, dev beta
SumitGup · x · 2026-11-04
Apple shipped a developer preview dramatically expanding how apps integrate with Siri — widely read as Siri shifting into an agent platform and a departure from Apple's closed-ecosystem playbook:
- Any app can expose actions (ordering, booking, tracking) that Siri runs inside the app
- Developers can configure Siri to chain multiple actions from one request
- Siri understands on-screen content and personal context, so "send this to David" works without defining "this"
- It can find anything an app indexes, not just Apple's preset types
Developer beta available today; public release in a few months.
