Devcon Mumbai: AI agents steal the spotlight as crypto event turns cypherpunk
devanshmehta · x · 2026-11-04
First-day impressions from EFDevcon Mumbai: attendance seems lower than previous years, possibly due to market conditions or visa issues (last year's Devconnect in Buenos Aires was massive). The Indian developer community is young, large and hungry. Agents are the big topic of the moment — lots of talks, and "agent" is the word heard everywhere in the halls, stealing the spotlight from prediction markets. Privacy and zero-knowledge remain central; institutional presence is minimal amid restrictive Indian crypto regulations, giving the event a cypherpunk vibe reminiscent of Devcon 2018 Prague. Quantum computing also appears on the agenda.
